Energy infrastructure company Kinder Morgan has donated over four acres of land to the City of Flagstaff to construct the Shadow Mountain Flood Basin, a regional detention basin to reduce flood and mud-flow threats to Eastern Flagstaff neighborhoods. The Shadow Mountain Flood Basin will help reduce flooding from the 1977 Radio Fire burn scar on Mount Elden, as well as repetitive floods from upstream of Flagstaff city limits.
