E1148 - Thoughts on the Bible Readings for January 4th (Genesis 7, 8; Psalms 9, 10; Matthew 6)

 

In Genesis 7 Noah is instructed as to what numbers of animals he is to take into the newly built ark. Seven pairs of "clean" animals and two pairs of "unclean" animals were to be taken into the ark. And so, what constitutes a clean, or an unclean, beast was known then. The book of Leviticus gives details of this; and comments will be made when dealing with chapter 11 then.
