The USS Enterprise CVN 65 is, at least indirectly, the most famous of warships.
The first aircraft carrier with nuclear engines was the inspiration for the USS Enterprise NCC-1701 and its warp engines.
Gene Roddenberry was also fascinated by the earlier Enterprise CV6, a Yorktown class carrier, that fought in and survived WW2. Roddenberry’s original name for the Enterprise was “Yorktown”.
