Sheriff Richard Mack is a former sheriff of Graham County, Arizona, serving from 1988 to 1996, and is best known for his role in the landmark Supreme Court case Mack v. United States. He successfully challenged the Brady Handgun Violence Prevention Act, arguing that federal authorities could not compel local law enforcement to conduct background checks, a position upheld by the Court in a 5–4 decision.
