Miss Violet Smith, the solitary cyclist of Charlington, has come to Holmes with a most interesting dilemma. She recently came into money from a long-lost dead relative, and has started a new job as a governess and music teacher in Surrey. But the true mystery is the dark figure who has started following her on her bicycle on her solitary rides every week.
