By keeping Jesus central, the church releases servant leaders to fuel the mission of God.

Sunday 26th April - Mark Mould preaches from Luke 24:50-53. This sermon explores the Ascension as Jesus’ new ministry phase. As Prophet, Priest, and King, Christ empowers and intercedes for His people. Believers are urged to surrender control, joyfully trusting His active and sovereign reign.

Sunday 29th March - Dan Roach preaches from Genesis 35:1-15. This sermon explores Jacob’s return to Bethel, where God’s persistent grace transforms mess into grateful worship. Believers are urged to abandon idols, trusting the faithful God who remains with them through every single life moment.

Sunday 15th March - Dave Rogers preaches from Gen 32:1-32-33:20 to explore Jacob’s wrestling match with God, highlighting how struggle fosters dependence over self-reliance. Through this confronting encounter, God transforms Jacob’s identity. This points to Jesus, who was broken to secure our blessing.

Sunday 8th March - Mick Taylor preaches from Genesis 34:1-31. Mick looks at maybe one of the most challenging accounts found in scripture and what we can learn from it. Please note, this sermon is a from a very troubling part of the Story of Jacob in Genesis 34 which includes references to sexual assault at the very beginning.

Sunday 1st March – Chris Collison preaches from Genesis 31:1-55. This sermon explores Jacob’s time working for his devious uncle Laban. Despite Laban's cheating and Jacob’s superstitious breeding tactics, God’s invisible hand brought prosperity. Chris encourages believers to always acknowledge God’s sovereign grace rather than relying on personal self-sufficiency.

Sunday 22nd February – Dan Roach preaches from Genesis 29: 1 - 30. This sermon explores Jacob’s prayerless decision to marry Rachel and the resulting years of hardship under Laban. This "bend in the road" shows how God uses messy circumstances to humble believers, refining them even when His presence feels completely hidden.

Sunday 15th February - Huw Hadden preaches from Genesis 28. This sermon explores Jacob’s encounter with God at Bethel, showing how unmerited grace finds us at our lowest points. Jacob saw a ladder but the Christian life under grace is more like an escalator – whilst our progress fluctuates, we are still carried along and upwards by Jesus, the true stairway to heaven.

Sunday 8th February – Lydia Pavey preaches from Genesis 27:1-46. This sermon explores Jacob’s deceitful theft of Esau’s blessing, revealing a broken, manipulative family. Remarkably, God’s mercy prevails through them. This points to Jesus, whose righteousness covers believers, providing them with God's truly incredible, unearned grace.

Sunday 1st February - Dan Roach preaches from Genesis 25:19-34. He introduces Jacob’s "messy" life to illustrate God’s unearned, transformative grace. Contrasting "scheming" Jacob with impulsive Esau, the sermon emphasizes that God’s powerful, freely given gift meets people in their brokenness and is received by simply turning to Him.

Sunday 26th January - Dan Roach explains that a flourishing church is a generous one, rooted deeply in Jesus’s sacrificial grace. Financial giving remains an ongoing, joyful opportunity for every single believer to support local ministry and global missions.

Sunday 16th January – Dave Rogers defines church leadership not as power, but as a God-given, servant-hearted means to release flourishing. Elders provide spiritual oversight while deacons manage the more practical aspects of church life. Together, they equip and encourage every single believer to grow mature in Jesus Christ.

Sunday 11th January – Huw Hadden preaches from Revelation 7. If the eternal future has a diverse church then a united diverse church in the present will both flourish and point to that glorious reality. Unity in difference glorifies God more than unity alone. This can be achieved through gospel hospitality and relationships rooted in Christ.

After Huw preached, the people above shared about a few of the many forms of diversity he mentioned and how they can flourish in church life. Topics covered were women in church, adoptive families, people with neurodiversity and welcoming/forming relationships with those not originally from England.

Sunday 4th January - Dave Rogers starts our new mini-series calling the church to prioritise wholehearted worship as its foundation for 2026. Worship is a communal, physical participation that re-centres believers on God’s worth, teaching biblical theology and propelling the congregation into daily service and lives of grace.
