Goliath and the End of the Giants

Goliath is not a random large opponent who happened to be in the wrong valley. He is the Anakim remnant. Joshua 11:21-22 drove the Anakim from the covenant land to Gaza, Gath, and Ashdod -- the three Philistine cities Joshua could not follow them into. Generations later, that remnant produced Goliath.   David did not defeat him because he was brave.
