Broccoli Sprout Recall Linked to Salmonella | Seattle News

Broccoli sprouts from Evergreen Fresh Sprouts are being recalled due to a Salmonella outbreak sickening 22 people across four states—with 16 in Washington and two hospitalized. Sprouts with expiration dates of September 7, 9, 11, 14, or 16 are affected. Throw them out and sanitize any surfaces they touched. This is separate from a recent alfalfa sprout outbreak, but most victims linked their illness to broccoli sprouts. Sold at some grocery stores and food co-ops between early July and late August—don’t eat them. If you experience bloody diarrhea, fever over 102, vomiting, or dehydration, see a doctor immediately.
