Our Miss Brooks, “Saving the School Newspaper” (episode 318), originally broadcast December 4, 1955. In this surviving AFRS rebroadcast version, Eve Arden stars as Madison High’s ever-resourceful English teacher, Connie Brooks.
Already covering extra French and German classes, Connie faces another campus complication when Walter Denton’s editorial about overworked teachers puts the Madison Monitor in jeopardy. With Principal Osgood Conklin, Mr. Boynton, and Mrs. Davis in the mix, the effort to keep the student paper alive becomes a brisk schoolhouse comedy. Written by Arthur Alsberg and produced by Larry Berns.
