When Experience Becomes Evidence

 

Last week we talked about what a privilege it is to participate.

 

Then Dr. Rey turned 50, and we spent ten days living that idea—with celebration, curiosity, nostalgia, absurdity, tenderness, grief, beautiful clothes, questionable amounts of dessert, and absolutely no concern for behaving our age.

 

When it was over, I realized the experience asks one more thing of us:

 

Let it count.

 

Something doesn't have to last forever to become part of who you are.
