Pianist Jayson Gillham, a British Australian based in London, is suing the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra for discrimination over his political beliefs. He was scheduled to perform with them in August 2024 but was canceled after dedicating a new piece to journalists killed in Gaza. The orchestra initially apologized but later axed the gig, leading to Gillham filing a lawsuit in Federal Court.
