Air fresheners might look like packaging, but under the EU's new Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR), they're unlikely to disappear. PPWR introduces sweeping new rules on packaging, including bans on some single-use formats and ambitious reuse targets, but because the air freshener container is essential to delivering the product itself, it's more likely to be treated as part of the product rather than packaging. It's a great question, and one we'll explore in much more detail when PPWR starts coming into force.
